Baja Bucket List Ride: The Ultimate Off-Road Adventure
Day 1: Tecate to Baja Oasis – A Ride Through the Pines
Your adventure begins in the border town of Tecate, where we kick off with a thrilling ride through Baja’s beautiful pine forests. The cool, crisp air and the scent of pine trees set the tone for what’s to come. Our first stop is a legendary lunch spot where you’ll indulge in ‘El Vapor’ steamed pork tacos—a Baja delicacy. While you enjoy your meal, our dedicated chase team will fuel and inspect your bike to ensure it’s in top condition for the ride ahead.
After lunch, we’ll traverse the famous Rumerosa Grade, a descent that offers not only a challenging ride but also some of the most spectacular views in Baja. As we cross the desert floor, the landscape transforms into a rugged and untamed expanse, leading us to our base for the night—The Baja Oasis. Here, you’ll be welcomed with a delicious seasonal dinner prepared by our chef, Gabby, served by the river’s edge, where you can relax and soak in the tranquil atmosphere.
Day 2: From Desert to Mountains – Mike’s Sky Ranch
Day 2 takes you deeper into Baja’s backcountry as we head towards the legendary Mike’s Sky Ranch. Depending on your skill level, you can choose from different routes, including the challenging ‘El Mano Grade,’ the adventurous ‘Secret Passage,’ or a dual-sport route along the scenic Laguna Salada. Each route offers its own set of thrills, with stunning vistas and diverse terrain.
Our journey continues to Valle de Trinidad, where we’ll stop for lunch and receive pit support before heading back into the mountains. The ride up to Mike’s Sky Ranch is nothing short of epic, culminating in your arrival at this iconic Baja rancho. Here, you’ll be greeted with an ice-cold swimming pool and a hearty meal, perfect for unwinding after a day of intense riding. Whether you choose to relax in the pool or enjoy a drink at the bar, the evening at Mike’s promises a true Baja experience.
Day 3: Beach Therapy and Coastal Trails
On Day 3, we trade the mountains for the coast as we make our way westward towards the Pacific Ocean. The day begins with a scenic descent, leading to the small coastal village of Colonet, where you can choose between mouthwatering tacos or fresh seafood for lunch. Afterward, it’s time for some beach therapy as we ride along the Pacific coast, with opportunities for beach wheelies and plenty of photo ops.
Our destination for the night is Coyote Cal’s, a legendary stop on the Baja off-road circuit. Here, you’ll enjoy breathtaking ocean views and the rich history of the place as the owner, Rick, shares his fascinating stories. The evening is capped off with a delicious dinner, tea, and water—though we recommend you approach the infamous Chupacabra Margarita with caution!
Day 4: The Final Stretch – Coastal Trails to Tecate
The final day of our adventure takes us north along the coast before veering east towards the small town of Ojos Negros. Known for its rugged terrain and challenging trails, this area is a favorite among off-road enthusiasts and showcases some of the most beautiful landscapes in Baja.
We’ll stop for a homestyle lunch at a local kitchen, offering a taste of Baja’s authentic cuisine, before heading north on the legendary ‘Compadre Trail.’ This trail is steeped in Baja history, having hosted countless off-road races and adventure seekers over the years. The journey ends back in Tecate, where we’ll cross the border with no wait on our motorcycles, bringing this incredible adventure to a close.
